Borrowing
Most visits to the Library include a stop at the Circulation Desk.
Come here to:
* Get a library card
* Borrow, return or renew items
* Pick up reserves
* Pay for lost items
* Ask for directions
GET A LIBRARY CARD
There is no charge for a library card. Come to the library with identification showing your name and current address. A photo ID is best. Algonquin Regional High School students may use a school ID. If you have a card from another C/WMARS Library, you can use it at Southborough. If you lose your library card, there is a $1.00 charge to replace it. Report your lost card to anyone at the Circulation desk, and we can help get you a replacement.
GET A PIN
A PIN (Personal Identification Number) allows you to manage your library account on the web 24 hours a day – see what items you have checked out and when they are due, renew items and place requests. You can set your own PIN on the CWMARS web site, and from the library catalog if you have a library card. When you type in your card number, omit any spaces in the number. If you forget your PIN, call or visit the library and we can delete your current PIN from the system (it is not readable but encrypted) and then you can create another PIN.
MAKE A REQUEST
We welcome your requests. You can request an item by calling or visiting the library or by finding the item in the CWMARS catalog. To reserve using the catalog you should have your library card and PIN with you. Ask if you need help.
INTERLIBRARY LOAN
From library or home computers, you are able to access the collection of this library and all 153 libraries in the region, the databases, and other Internet resources. We can request materials from other networks and from other states, through the Virtual Catalog. Our staff provides INTERLIBRARY LOAN service for books, journal articles, and other materials accessible through the CWMARS Network or the Virtual Catalog.
